UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Since TWITTER banned Donald Trump from its platform the ratings have gone down. I think it's time for me to step up to try and fill the gap.

I have a reasonable following on the blogs and at last count there are two regular readers and contributors and at least another five who read but rarely make comments. This is a far greater reach than the two other blogs in this blogging community have:

RICHARD'S BASS BAG  A rather tired old bag that just meanders on.

And:

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CATHOLIC  Robert the Apathetic Sinner's blog that keeps changing title.

"It's 4 O'clock - time for some beers."

.

I looked up the meaning of 'Influencer' on the internet and found this definition: HERE which is obviously written by an 'influencer' given its hubris. Here are some excerpts:

An influencer is someone in your niche or industry with sway over your target audience.

"Influencers have specialized (sic) knowledge, authority or insight into a specific subject. Their pre-existing presence in a niche makes them a useful launching pad for brands in search of credibility. 85% of marketers engaged in influencer marketing in 2017 and 92% said their campaigns were effective.
(Well they would wouldn't they given, like with Robert's religion, there's no proof to be had.)

An influencer assists companies in “influencer marketing,” a form of advertising that builds brand authority on the back of another person’s reputation."

Influencers generally look like this:

And never like this:

It's time to make a change (well, probably not the guy at the bottom, we'll leave that to the Catholic Church to investigate).

  1. Sorry, you probably need someone to comment.

Well, my comment was designed to be supportive.

  2. I wrote this because I've been annoyed by all of the reports of 'Influencers' in the news. They are becoming a 'thing' based on nothing - a bit like religion really and we all know how that's ended up.
The Auckland 'lockdown party' featured mostly 'Influencers' who seem just to be young attractive people without proper jobs and who are most likely unemployable.
Good luck to them but I don't want to hear about them in the same space as about people who have merit and who do things for the health, safety, benefit and improvement of others.

  3. I admit I didn't properly finish off the post but, in my defence the blog does have a Twitter theme and I'm a bit lazy.
